Legal
Last updated 24 October 2026. This is a plain statement, not legal advice.
An unofficial fan project
Scraplight is an independent, fan-made engine that reads game files you already own. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Bethesda Softworks LLC, ZeniMax Media Inc. or any owner or publisher of Fallout.
Fallout® and Fallout 2® and related names and marks are trademarks or registered trademarks of Bethesda Softworks LLC in the U.S. and/or other countries. They are used here only to say which games the engine can read. The name Scraplight, its logo and its interface are original.
Bring your own copy
Neither this site nor the Scraplight repository contains any game file: no art, audio, video, text, maps, scripts, executables or archives. You supply your own legally obtained copy, and the engine reads it in your browser. Please do not open issues or pull requests that attach game files, and do not ask where to download them. All game content remains the property of its owners.
The interface shows item pictures and character art from your own files when it can, and falls back to its own drawn pictograms when it cannot. Screenshots on this site show the interface with sample data and those stand-ins.
Licence of the code
Scraplight's own code and documentation are released under the MIT licence. It covers the repository's own work only and grants nothing in any Fallout game file, name or logo.
It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Scraplight is free to use, and no game content is ever sold with it.
